Holoscape Inc. was founded in March 1999 in New York City by Murat Aktihanoglu . Before founding Holoscape Inc, Mr. Aktihanoglu was a technical lead at Silicon Graphics Inc 's Cosmo Software division where he worked on the most successful-to-date 3D Internet browser, Cosmo Player. After Platinum Technology Inc. has acquired Cosmo Software, he continued to work on Cosmo Player as well as working on the next generation 3d standard X3D for the Web3D Consortium. He has also served on the Technical Advisory Board of the Web3D Consortium and attended various conferences giving interactive workshops and presentations. He has more than 14 years of Computer Graphics applications and research experience.

Mr. Aktihanoglu holds an M.S. degree in Computer Graphics specializing in Interactive Animation and Distributed Rendering from Bilkent University , Turkey.

Since its founding, the Holoscape Inc. team has provided ATT Research Labs, IM Networks, Improv Technologies and Sony Electronics Inc. with research, technology and software consulting on various internet media technologies. Holoscape Inc. has also created open-source projects, such as Emma3D and KML Converter.
